Cairneyhill Parish Church exists:

To make new disciples for Jesus Christ
To reflect God's amazing love for all people in our love for each other and for others
To provide opportunities for Christians to worship together and have fellowship together
To provide Christian education for all ages
To play an appropriate part in the affairs of the Church of Scotland and in the affairs of our community
To make effective use of the resources available to us for building God's Kingdom

Cairneyhill Church is part of the Church of Scotland , but warmly welcomes people of all denominations , or none ! Communion is celebrated regularly throughout the year and is open to all who love the Lord Jesus Christ.

Within the Church of Scotland we are partners in a linked charge with Limekilns Parish Church, and come within the Presbytery of Dunfermline.

Our services and other activities are normally informal. We have a praise band assisting with worship most weeks. Traditional hymns are also used.

Leadership of our church follows the new Unitary Constitution of the Church of Scotland. The Kirk Session formed of Elders and Minister exercises authority over all local matters. Elders and other members of the congregation assist the Minister to carry out the work of the church. We aim to involve the whole church in the work of the church including ministry.

We have a communion roll of around 100 members. Most weeks the congregation in church numbers about 50. The Sunday School caters for about 20 children.

Our parish includes the village of Cairneyhill and a number of surrounding farms and rural cottages. Cairneyhill lies on the main road to the west of Dunfermline, 3 miles out of town, towards Culross and Kincardine. See MAP.

The village has a long history but other than the main street, most of the 1,000 or so houses are less than 40 years old. The village boasts a primary school (roll of 400), a modern scout hall, two shops including a post office and ATM, one farm shop, one hotel, one pub, one hairdressers, two garden centres, one petrol station, a golf range and two golf courses nearby, a number of other small businesses - plus the Church! Many residents commute to work in Dunfermline, Rosyth and Edinburgh. The towns of Kirkcaldy, Perth, Alloa, Stirling, Falkirk are all well within 1 hour's drive, while Glasgow also can be reached in about 1 hour. The village has a large number of families and a lower than normal average age.
